If you are concerned that you might be having a miscarriage, the most important advice I can give you is to jump off Google immediately. I mean it. I want you to book an appointment with your doctor or go straight to the hospital.

Call your doctor! Here’s why…

I know it’s tempting to search endlessly for an answer online but I’ll let you in on a little secret…most of the articles you’re reading were not written by someone who has been to medical school. They’re often written by writers with Arts Degrees…like me. And as much as Dr. Google can sometimes get it right, it simply can’t compete with the up to ten years of training your average Australian GP completes.

However, since you’re here and you’re probably feeling pretty scared right now, I’m going to answer with the only real expertise I have…personal experience.

The most common sign of miscarriage is vaginal bleeding and cramping.
